Jesahel testo lyrics (Fossati) Italian Folk-Hippy

Jesahel testo lyrics
Jesahel
I was only a child, when Ivano Fossati, along with Delirium, an Italian progressive rock band, from Genoa, is presented, along with a dozen guys at the Sanremo Festival 1971, just remember that I was in ecstasy in front of all those guys who clapped their hands and singing, all together.

Peace, love and freedom, were the years of high hopes and big dreams, destroyed years from reality and the political struggle in Italy, terrorism, and social and economic issues, but that song sold millions of copies in a few weeks, Ivano Fossati, began his career as a soloist, and for years, that song was picked first, as the chorus of political demonstrations, then by choirs in soccer stadiums, and when a song is picked up by the choirs of the stadium, then, is simply a masterpiece.

We could call it a Folk-Hippy song, we could call it a religious song - is a clear Jesahel reference to Jesus - we call it a gospel choir, but we only know that Jesahel, after more than 30 years after its publication, yet we like damn, we emphasizes urges us to sing along with all those guys.

Of Jesahel, were made some covers, by Matia Bazar to "Dirotta su Cuba" - a group that we will soon review - which have made an interesting funky version.
Here are some versions of Jesahel, with text in Italian and translated into English, have fun:

JESAHEL , Lyrics in Italian:
Nei suoi occhi c'è la vita, c'è l'amore
Nel suo corpo c'è la febbre del dolore
Sta seguendo una luce che cammina
Lentamente tanta gente si avvicina.

Mille volti come sabbia nel deserto
Mille voci come onde in mare aperto
Terza strada sta sfiorando i grattacieli
Quinta strada sa voltando verso il sole.

Liberati dal cemento e dalle luci
Il silenzio nelle mani e nelle voci.

Lyrics translated in English:
In his eyes there is life, there is love
In his body there is a fever of pain
He is following a light walk
So many people slowly approaching.

A thousand faces like sand in the desert
A thousand voices as waves offshore
Third street is touching the skyscrapers
Fifth avenue, knows turning toward the sun.

Released from the cement and the lights
The silence in the hands and voices.
