Il 29 settembre, 13 ottobre e 27 ottobre 2013, c'é un'interessante iniziativa ad Orvieto: Passeggiate tra gli Etruschi. Si tratta di escursioni organizzate a piedi o anche in bicicletta per vedere alcune vestigia di questo anticolo popolo che viveva in questa città dell'Umbria, che comprende la visita alla tomba Hescanas, nel comune di Porano, quindi una visita al Museo Archeologico Nazionale e al Museo "Claudio Faina" in Piazza del Duomo ad Orvieto.
Orvieto venne costruita in cima ad una collina di tufo, ed é proprio il tufo che vedrete in tutta l'antica città.
Questo elemento, proveniente da antiche eruzioni vulcaniche è una sorta di cemento facilmente lavorabile, gli etruschi lo hanno usato per cotruire tombe e più tardi venne utilizzato per farne mattoni con cui gli abitanti hanno fatto case.
Ad Orvieto c'é il famoso Duomo, che venne costruito nel 1300 e la cui facciata é un vero e proprio capolavoro di arte medioevale.
La campagna intorno ad Orvieto, é caratterizzata per grandi coltivazioni di olive ed uva; l'uva produce il vino ORVIETO CLASSICO, un ottimo vino bianco con denominazione DOC

On 29 September, 13 October and 27 October 2013, there is an interesting initiative in Orvieto: Walking among the Etruscans. In Orvieto there is the famous Orvieto Cathedral, which was built in 1300 and whose facade is a true masterpiece of medieval art.
The countryside around Orvieto, is characterized by large crops of olives and grapes, the grape produces the Orvieto Classico wine, an excellent white wine: ORVIETO DOC
